Requirements & Information

Are you a student with a passion for technology and coding? HackAppleton is your chance to showcase your skills and problem-solving abilities. Here's everything you need to know about participating:

I do not have coding experience. Would this still be a valuable experience for me?

Yes! HackAppleton is open to all skill levels. The hackathon is a great place to learn and grow, so we welcome and encourage novice coders to participate, too! As long as you are able to submit, present, and explain your project, you are more than welcome to participate.

Why Participate?

 - Networking Opportunities
- Engage with local and international tech leaders through insightful speaker and workshop sessions during our in-person event.

 - Refine Your Coding Skills
- HackAppleton is a vibrant community of like-minded coders to collaborate on exciting projects. Benefit from the invaluable guidance of seasoned judges and propel your coding skills to new heights.

Participation in HackAppleton is completely free! We're here to support your passion for technology.

Competition Logistics

The Competition Starts Before!
All participants will receive the same unique problem statement a week prior to the event via the Remind. This gives participants time to plan and create their project. The problem statement will be released on December 3rd. They will be accessible on the Remind group for HackAppleton.

About the Problem Statement

The problem statement is the most important document for competitors. It includes the theme and prompts for which competitors will code about.

Competition Eligibility

 - Must be a middle schooler or high schooler

 - Must attend the in-person HackAppleton event to be considered for prizes

Project Submission

All projects must be submitted before 1:30pm on December 10th; you may submit your project earlier, however, we will allocate 1 hour and 30 minutes the day of the in-person event for final touch-ups and team coordination. Once the problem statement is released via Remind, you can view specific submission instructions there.
